Promote Your Site For Free With Manual Traffic Exchanges

There are many gurus out there that suggest do this and do that, but the reality is testing different traffic generating systems may work best. There is no magic bullet for obtaining instant high search engine rankings or blasting your way to the top. There are too many factors that come into play that contribute to rankings, etc.

If you’re on a tight budget and need to spend wisely then I would recommend trying manual traffic exchanges. There are a lot of pros and cons about traffic exchanges. The pro is that it is usually free to advertise and the con is that you may have to sit in front of your computer and click constantly to earn free credits. You may opt to buy traffic on these exchanges but again that will cost you some cash. Also you may be listed on that traffic exchange with hundreds of other sites, so competition for that elusive customer is always present.

Also some search engines may penalize you if you list your site on these exchanges. You will have to check their TOS. Also if you use Adsense, YPN or other similar ad networks and have adsense or similar type ads on your site and you place your site on one of these exchanges they may cancel your account. I would recommend placing sites that are free of Adsense ,YPN, etc. Good sites to promote are MLM and clickbank type promotions.

Stay away from auto surf sites. These are sites that rotate member sites automatically and where you don’t have to click to go to the next site in rotation. These types of traffic exchanges will not have your site in front of the target consumer too long. You want the target to actually see your site and have to do some manual action to view the next site.

Some of the better manual traffic exchanges will get you the free traffic you need and crave. People are actually looking at your site for about 20 to 30 seconds on the average. Remember the people viewing your site are members of the site and are trying to advertise there site also. This is where the “exchange” comes into play. You can consider this a type of mutual advertising club. Even though these members are advertising their site, they are in reality being exposed to your offer. These are still excellent targets for your promotion.

But, he says, the key was constructing a site that builds trust with the consumer, while educating them about the product or service offered. “We tell the truth, showcase the product, and recreate the world that the product comes from through a variety of rich media,” says Bakhash.

Retailers like Bakhash are aware that doing business online boosts sales. A 2006 Forrester Research study of 174 retailers found that online retail sales rose last year by 25%, to $176.4 billion, and are expected to rise 20% in 2006, to $211.4 billion. By 2010, sales should reach $329 billion.

“Small businesses inherently have built their business themselves. A lot of people look at doing everything themselves—the backend servers, all the infrastructure, learning HTML.
